Flower essences

Gem elixirs are often used with flower essences, with which they are believed to have a synergistic effect. These are produced in much the same way as elixirs, by 'potentising' water containing flowers in full sunlight, and used in similar ways. The colour of the plant from which the essences are derived is less important than the ‘colour’ associated with its vibration.

Edward Bach, the British physician who was the first person in modern times to develop a system of healing with flower essences, organised his flower remedies into seven groups, each associated with a different colour and shown accordingly on a colour wheel chart still produced by the Bach Centre in England. Although Bach made no reference to colour in developing his system, it is nevertheless probable that colour is a reliable guide to their selection and use.
